After seven years in the idol industry, MOON JEHYUN (or JEHYUN) has released his debut solo album ‘ironic.’ JEHYUN first began his idol career through his former K-Pop group 1TEAM. Now, JEHYUN is one of 10 members that make up IPQ Entertainment’s boy group, OMEGA X.
‘ironic’, the single album, begins with the title track “Love & Hate.” The lyrics in this song demonstrate how people can crave love while feeling pain and uncertainty. It is composed of a softer and dreamier R&B composition and the blend of the guitar and heavy bass allows the listeners to feel unsteady.
The B-side “Natural” is the second track on the album. With the participation of Xen, fellow Omega X member, this song captures the turmoil between accepting someone while pushing them away. The more someone resists, the attraction becomes frequently inescapable.
JEHYUN’S relaxing and charming vocals create a sensual R&B sound for the album. At the same time, the lyrics of the album express uncontrollable yet magnetic emotions. Overall, both songs in the “ironic” album express the irony between falling in love and why it may hurt in the end.
The single album was released on October 22. Be sure to check it out!
