After months of teasers, the highly anticipated boy group WAYF BOYS have released their debut single “WAYF BOYS DO,” in which all five members have writing credits on the track. WAYF stands for ‘Where Art Yields Freedom’, and is also the name of the company and aids in portraying their concept. Full of familiar faces, the group consists of Andrew, who found fame from TikTok and Boys II Planet; Junmyeong, a pre-debut LNGSHOT member and B:MY BOYZ contestant; Anderson, who was on NCT LASTART; Samuel, appearing on Show Me The Money 11; and Ryan, also of Boys II Planet fame.

The single consists of a heavy beat and catchy lyrics. With heavy inspiration from the American Hip-Hop scene, the group calls themselves “Nu-Kpop,” with a focus on freedom, individuality, and self-expression. This sentiment is shared through the lyrics, saying “I’m pretty like Rocky, this, that NU-KPOP we mobbing.” The track also shares the feelings of four members being foreigners in Korea, saying “they threw me back to my hometown from Seoul” and “half vanilla, fuck ICE.”

Before WAYF BOYS, members Andrew and Ryan had debuted solo, with “Boys II Plan” and “Arojin” respectively. Both members hail from America and use those influences in their songwriting. The official X account tweeted “We want to pay our respects to the artists, communities, and culture we grew up with,” later clarifying that “we are talking about the black community and artists who made the genres that we love.”

Check out their debut, “WAYF BOYS DO,” and be sure to keep an eye out for future releases.

Dreamcore band Colorblind have released a new song from their upcoming debut record, WHO SOLD YOU THIS TRUTH++WAS IT YOURS TO HOLD. The record, which releases on August 27, will feature 15 songs and is set to arrive in time for their upcoming fall tour with Catch Your Breath.

Colorblind is a Texas based band that originally formed in 2017 in Austin. Nearly a year after their formation, the band released their first self-titled EP, which featured six songs. Throughout the next few years, Colorblind continued to release singles before signing with Solid State Records. Following the signing came their next EP, titled Colorblind EP, which gained them popularity as they even collaborated with Sleeping With Sirens lead singer Kellin Quinn on a remix of their track, “Everything But Faith.”

Now, the band is preparing to release their first full-length album this fall.

Promotion for this record has been steady, as the band have already released eight of the tracks, with “Chemical Warfare” being the newest one. This song encapsulates an internal battle of self-judgment. Lyrics like, “Thoughts are going off” and “And they’re aiming at my flaws,” tell the story of judging oneself and not being able to escape toxic thoughts.

Paired with the song is a music video that features frontman Travis Moseley surrounded by fire to symbolize his internal dilemma and racing thoughts. It also features a variety of blurred visual effects that match the song’s instrumentals and overall vibe.

Colorblind will hit the road this fall alongside Catch Your Breath, TX2 and Arankai. Tickets are on sale now via Colorblind’s official website.
